Queen of Gasparilla Party

We had the pleasure of creating this spectacular event with planner Sarah Fairbarn from One Fine Day. As Tampa residents know, Gasparilla comes each year in late January and it is Tampa's version of Mardi Gras. Every year a young woman is crowned Queen of Gasparilla and here is a sneak peek inside this years Queen's coronation soiree. The event space was transformed using a pirate theme. Botanica assisted with the design as well as provided the linens, floral, decor, and some chairs. Thank you to Pezz Photo for sharing the great pictures. Enjoy!

We recently had the pleasure of working with a lovely couple and Ms. Sharia Riley from SyleHouse Weddings and Events on this organically beautiful wedding. Guest Book Idea

The tradition of having a sign-in guest book has been updated several times throughout recent years. We have seen anything from signing a large framed picture of the couple to having a signed coffee table book about where they decide to honeymoon. It is nice to come across different takes on this long standing custom. Here is one we found on Etsy that is fun! Guests add their names with their fingerprint to make up the wedding tree.

Beat the Heat

It is starting to feel like Summer has officially arrived and Florida weddings in the summertime can get HOT! Outdoor views do provide beautiful backdrops for wedding ceremonies, however, with temperatures reaching the mid and upper 90's your guests may be distracted by the overwhelming heat instead of focusing on the beautiful venue, decor, and of course the bride. If you must have an outdoor location, think about using umbrellas scattered throughout the ceremony seating to provide extra shade. Also, consider having a drink station readily available for guests to cool down. Your friends and family will really appreciate the thought and consideration.
